Definition

Phonetics is the science which deals with how a voice / sound can be formed usingsome parts of the body, the lips, teeth, tongue, pharynx and lungs.



 Science is only to discuss the relationship between the body that produce sound. For the formation of a language, to the perception of sound production

Phonetics contained in its parts, namely:

• Articulatory Phonetics

        Articulatory is the study of sound path is formed using some parts of the body

     • Auditory Phonetics
       Auditory is about a language accepted by the listeners

     • Acoustics Phonetics
        Discussing about a science that respond to the sound of speech

Inside there is a segmentation of phonetic sounds. Segmentation is the sound producedby breathing, vocal organs and the vocal cords (Masnur, 2003)

This segmentation there are four kinds, namely consonants, vocal, diphtong and clusters.
1. consonant
Consonants are dead letters. Such as p, t, k, b, d, g

Vocal are vowels. namely a, i, u, e, o

Diphthongs are 2 vowel sound or combined with another one that sounded together. Asai, ie, ou, ue, oi, au

Cluster is a double consonant letters were read one and together

Besides segmentation, there is also suprasegmental or suprasegmentasi.Suprasegmentasi consists of three things:
- Pitch (tone);
- length (length); and
- stress (pressure)
